here in my room is my shell of inner discovery. treasures to be found in each corner, what will i dig up today? outside is a fallout and i am safe here in my bunker. free from the world of rules and regulation and responsibility. free from the burden of everyday life. repetitive tasks, an endless hamster wheel. zombies walking the earth towards
nowhere. life on tv, Slap-Chops, The View, Dr. Phil. dealing with issues and selling myself back to me. making monkeys dance for the amusement of the public. here, i don't have to visit, i don't have to linger, i don't have to worry. here, the world is my oyster. here, i have no one to let down, no mountains to climb. i can let the world forget about me and my problems. it is never enough, the toxic sludge always seeps in through the cracks. asking me for help, throwing themselves at me, waiting me to grind myself away for the sake of others. it fills me with bitterness and resentment and anger. it never lasts.

We're in the deep freeze today. Kids got a day off of school and I'm looking outside at the snow and clouds and cccccccold! My thermometer says "0" degrees.
I was supposed to go to two unrelated meetings today, but they were both cancelled, so instead I'm staying cozy at home.
Yesterday, I took an old fleece hoodie and was going to just throw it away because it was too beat up to donate. Then I had a cold day inspired brainstorm and ended up cutting off the sleeves and making 4 neck/face gaitors out of them! How Martha Stewart of me! They work really well too.
I put this playmobile zoo on craigslist to sell for Little Joe. Playmobile is so overpriced. I would never buy it, but it was a gift years ago from his hoity toity grandfather. Little Joe wants to sell it, so I put the ad up. No replies yet.
While there, I checked out the personal ads. They're kind of sad really. Who are these people that search for "friendship and maybe more" on craigslist?? I can... (more)
